Focal Point Theatre Company is dedicated to pursuing innovation through collaboration.
We are committed to creating high-caliber, evocative and challenging work through an alliance of creative artists and performers, while upholding exceptional values and demonstrating a win-win strategy for cross-promotion with our community, friends and partners.
Our focus is on the theatre we do, as well as the way we do theatre.
The focus of FPTC is to create work that is socially, emotionally and aesthetically explorative and engaging, while utilizing various accepted and unconventional modes of collaboration, even across artistic styles, mediums and traditions. FPTC hopes to create and foster an interactive community of artists and arts patrons which encourages dialogue and engagement beyond the typical in-theatre transaction.
A core belief of FPTC is that the creative process and its end products are mutually beneficial to both the artist and the audience, and we will endeavor to provide both with opportunities to expand their understanding of, and experience in, the theatre. To that end, both our artistic and operational processes are built on a foundational philosophy of mutual benefit, or "win-win". We will actively seek opportunities to promote or cross-promote our work and the work of our community members as a regular practice, and we will endeavor to be a nurturing, supportive and encouraging artistic home for our collaborators.
Transferring this axiom to the stage is accomplished by selecting material reflective of our goals. We will produce a mix of established and published works (both modern and classical) as well as new, original pieces. To both we will apply a vigorous strategy of collaboration that encompasses directing, acting, design and management.
